(1). The site should be selected far away from residential areas, with convenient transportation and away from roads;
(2). The terrain should be high and dry, with sufficient sunlight. As far as possible, do not shade in winter, do not block wind in summer, and do not accumulate water after rain. Large area, leaving room for development;
(4). The structure of the layer chicken house is practical and economical, saving both capital and energy. Its orientation conforms to the local natural and physiological conditions, with good lighting, easy ventilation, and easy operation.
(5). The layout of the house should be reas
onable, so that the production area is separated from the non-production area. The non-production area and the water source are in the upwind direction of the chicken farm. The house is separated from the rearing house, and the brooding house is located in the upwind direction of the chicken farm;
(6). Understand the prevalence of poultry diseases in the local area, and try to avoid epidemic areas or areas where epidemics have occurred;
(7). Avoid urban polluted areas, take appropriate environmental protection measures, and minimize environmental pollution;
There are two types of chicken houses: closed and open.
There are no windows around the closed chicken house. Artificial lighting and mechanical ventilation are used. It is an energy-consuming chicken house. The microclimate environment is easy to control and easy to manage.
The open chicken house is a chicken house with windows, which is an energy-saving chicken house that utilizes external natural resources. Generally, power ventilation is not required, and artificial lighting is fully used. The disadvantage is that it is greatly affected by the outside world.
The design of the house structure is based on both the rational index of the best environment for chickens and the economic index of construction cost, which mainly involves factors such as ventilation, heat preservation, cooling, water supply and drainage, and lighting of the chicken house.
The purpose of ventilation is to eliminate dirty air in the house as much as possible: introduce fresh air, keep the air in the house fresh, cool down, disperse humidity, and reduce the body temperature of the chickens. This is the first element to measure the environment of the chicken house.
There are two ways of ventilation: natural ventilation and mechanical ventilation.
(1).Natural ventilation.
It does not need power, but only relies on the wind pressure and heat pressure in nature to generate air flow, and generally exchanges air through windows, transoms and loosely sealed gaps.
Advantages: no special equipment, no power, low infrastructure cost, low maintenance cost, simple and easy to operate, if it can be designed, installed and managed reasonably, it can receive good results, and the application effect is better in hot areas and North China.
Disadvantages: In the cold season, it is limited by heat preservation and the effect is not good.
Issues that should be paid attention to in natural ventilation:
It is suitable for non-airtight chicken houses and chicken houses with windows, just open the front and rear windows.The span of the chicken coop should not exceed 9 meters.
Doors, windows or roller blinds should be able to open and close freely, and be tightly closed to keep warm in winter. The ventilation in different seasons is adjusted by the size of the door or roller shutter opening.
(2).Mechanical ventilation.
It is used in closed chicken houses and semi-closed chicken houses, completely relying on fans for forced ventilation, and there are several common types as follows.
Negative pressure ventilation, relying on the fan to draw out the dirty gas in the house to form a negative pressure, and fresh air enters the house automatically
Positive pressure ventilation, the exhaust fan will force the fresh air outside the house into the house
Zero-pressure ventilation, also known as combined ventilation, performs air supply and exhaust at the same time, and the fan load is small.
Problems that should be paid attention to in mechanical ventilation:
It is used in fully enclosed or semi-enclosed chicken houses and areas where electricity is guaranteed.
The key to the design is to scientifically organize the direction and speed of the airflow in the house. Different regions have different purposes or focuses on the ventilation design of broiler houses.
For broiler chickens, it is necessary to ensure that the light is not too strong, so the main function of windows should be to focus on ventilation, and more artificial light is used to ensure the lighting of broilers, especially for closed chicken houses.
The roof is the area with the largest heat loss in the cold season, and it is also the area with the most sunlight radiation in the hot season, so the roof is the most important area for thermal insulation, followed by the walls. If it is an open chicken house, the doors and windows must be opened and closed freely, and Seals well.
So if you want to start a poultry farm or expand your farm, and want to bring your chicken farming business to next level, I would strongly recommend that you should try this new method of Battery cage raising chickens. We would be more than happy to share more information with you about this battery caging system.
